Description of the job
The Senior Advisor Risk and Business Continuity is part of a small, agile team supporting the CEO to meet the Governance responsibilities of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy through maintaining the Corporate Governance Framework and managing some of its supporting components.
The Senior Advisor Risk and Business Continuity will be responsible for the ongoing oversight, implementation and review of the following:
- Risk Management Policy
- Risk Management Framework
- Agency Risk Management Plan - including coordinating quarterly reporting
- Business Continuity Management Policy
- Austrade Crisis Management Plan
- Austrade Pandemic Plan
The Senior Advisor Risk and Business Continuity will undertake significant engagement across Austrade, ensuring compliance with Austrade risk and business continuity policies and frameworks, and develop and implement targeted strategies to increase awareness and employee competency in the practical application of risk and business continuity frameworks and tools. The ability to adapt language and approach to the audience will be critical to success.
The key duties of the position include
Specific duties of this role include:
- Leading implementation and review of the enterprise risk framework and the annual Agency Risk Management plan, identifying opportunities for improvement and refinement
- Leading the implementation and ongoing refinement of the Agency Business Continuity Management Framework and supporting plans
- Develop and implement a targeted communications and engagement strategy to increase awareness of Risk and Business Continuity within Austrade
- Drafting Executive reports and papers to inform the Executive on current and emerging risks, providing advice on proactive and remediations activities to address
