Your Role
As a Senior Inquiry Officer at DSIR you will conduct inquiries, using statutory powers, into the deaths of ADF members. You require significant experience in conducting inquiries and preparing reports. Our members typically have long term military, government or policing experience. You will need to be comfortable reviewing and discussing distressing material involving physical and mental illness, accidents and deaths. You must also have a high level of emotional maturity and an ability to engage compassionately with grieving families and co-workers of deceased ADF members.
You will be part of a small, focused team, and you will be in a unique position to support the Inspector General of the Australian Defence Force to develop important recommendations about the ADF's people and operations.

Our Team
The Directorate of Select Incident Review (DSIR) undertakes inquiries into the deaths of Australian Defence Force members. We prepare reports and recommendations for the Inspector General of the Australian Defence Force to submit to the Chief of the Defence Force. We deliver evidence-based recommendations to enhance all aspects of the ADF's operations, and to improve the lives and service experience of ADF members
