The Role
This role works closely with the SATCOM SPO Director and executives, supporting the implementation of the vision and strategic direction of the SPO Director. The Business Intelligence Manager is accountable to lead, plan and manage business and administrative services, utilising Business Management Unit resources to support functional areas across the SPO. This includes, but is not limited to, business analysis and planning, governance, quality management, risk management, workforce, budgeting, export controls and project controls.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced and rewarding role, delivering business services and driving efficiency to enable project and sustainment teams to effectively deliver capability and manage sustainment of products. The role is well suited to a project or corporate professional who can exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role, engage in complex problem solving and issue management, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement.
About our Team
Satellite Communication Systems Program Office (SATCOMSPO), within Space Systems Branch, acquires and sustains satellite communications capability and is a trusted advisor of SATCOM systems for the Australian Defence Organisation. The team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from Brindabella Park offices in Canberra and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies.
This role leads the Business Management Unit within SATCOMSPO and consists of Governance, Project Controls, Export Controls and Business Operations professionals who provide cross-functional support to the SPO.
