The Role
The Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Office (SeMPRO) is seeking an APS 6 Research and Evaluation officer to join our innovative Research and Evaluation team. The position is responsible for designing and undertaking research and evaluation projects for SeMPRO using mixed methodologies and collecting and analysing data from across Defence to inform policy and evidence based decision-making.
As an APS 6 Research and Evaluation Officer in Defence, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting data assessment and data management.
- Analysing quantitative and qualitative data using analysis software.
- Applying your knowledge to the assessment of research, education, policy and strategy on behalf of SeMPRO.
- Planning and managing your workflows and resources to achieve milestones and expected outcomes.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Writing briefs, minutes, reports, presentations and other Defence documentation as required.
About our Team
SeMPRO provides support, advice and resources to individuals who have been impacted by sexual misconduct. We promote cultural change within Defence and support prevention efforts.
SeMPRO works in three key ways to achieve this.
We provide:
- education and training about sexual misconduct prevention and response to Defence personnel;
- a 24/7 support service to help people impacted by sexual misconduct; and
- expert advice to shape Defence policy, and to provide accessible resources that aid those impacted by sexual misconduct, their supporters, and their managers.
Research and Evaluation is a small team within SeMPRO that provides research and data management support across all lines of effort. The team is responsible for data management and analysis of SeMPRO use data, and undertaking evaluations of SeMPRO products and services; collecting and analysing data received from across Defence; providing advice based on internal and external research reports.
